Many thanks to James Lister a Pompey fan for taking the time to answer our questions this week. We are guessing the young lady in the photo is the girlfriend, unfortunately we weren’t given a name, so we cant give her a namecheck. Stay safe both of you, and we will possibly see you next season, as I think that prediction of finishing second might be a bit ambitious.
We are now at the business end of the season; how do you assess how your season has gone so far and what are your hope’s for the run in?
Wanted Jackett out for years, under him we played players out of position, players didn’t show the heart & were up for another boring football,
It’s only been 2 games with the Cowley brothers, but you can see the positive impact they’ve already had & with the run in for the rest of the season I think we’re in for a shout for automatics but can definitely make playoffs minimum.
Where do you think your club will finish up in the league this season?
Honestly think 2nd at worst will be 4th.
What has been your best result this season, and of course your worst?
The best is difficult, the 3-1 over Sunderland, the 3-1 over Charlton, 2-0 over Peterborough. or doing the TREBLE over Ipswich.
Worst has to be the 4-1 loss to Northampton, I think that’s the game that finally showed the owners Jackett needs the boot.
Has your club talked about season tickets for the 21/22 season? How are they navigating the possibility of no crowds or reduced capacity?
Haven’t heard much talk but as I work Saturdays I can’t get a season ticket, just go to Tuesday night games.
Which opposition team that you have played has impressed you the most this season?
Hate to say it but Blackpool, they do what they need to do even when it’s not pretty.
Which player has stood out for your team this season, and which player has come through the ranks and looks a real prospect?
The answer to both is the incredible RONAN CURTIS! ….He’s the only player that puts his heart & soul into every match and for some reason he went on a run of being on the bench under that idiot Kenny Jackett. But in the game against Plymouth, 2-0 down 86th min it was all thanks to him we walked away with a point.
Are you happy with the business you conducted in January transfer window? Who did you recruit and what are your initial impressions? Or was keeping certain players more key?
No we always recruit loan players, they either do great & get recalled early or their very average & we feel we owe it to their other club to give them playtime.
Keeping Curtis, MacGillivray, Whatmough, Harness, Naylor is the most important!
Which MK Dons player stands out to you as a game changer in our clash?
Well we’ve only played them once so far; we beat them 2-1 & their goal was an iffy penalty. so I guess the penalty taker Fraser.
Sorry I know you’re MK Dons fans, but I hate the way you play football against the better clubs in the league, very dirty, lots of timewasting, eager for 0-0 or 1-0.
What style of play can we expect to see from your team?
Under new management from what I’ve seen High press, play out from the back, shoot on sight & lots of passing.
Have you ever been to Stadium MK, if so, what’s your opinion on it?
No simply because of what I commented above.
But from pictures I’ve seen it looks very boring, too similar to places like Leicester.
Where do you think the MK Dons will finish in the league table?
With other teams having 1/2/3 games in hand over you I think anywhere between 13th – 16th.
From what you have seen, who are your tips for the league title, promotion, and relegation?
Title – Sunderland
Promotion- Sunderland, Pompey, Hull
Relegation – Rochdale, Bristol Rovers, Northampton, Burton.
Can you give us your match prediction?
MK Dons 1 – 3 Pompey
