THE FLOOR IS YOURS ROGER GRACE

Many thanks to 57 year old Roger Grace formerly a born and bred Newport Pagnell lad who is now residing in Scotland and watching the Dons from afar, and hoping the Dons have a pre-season tour of Scotland. You never know Roger; Russel Martin has connections with Scotland as you know, but I think that Carlisle dream you have might not come off, its going to have to be Fleetwood I’m afraid.

Tell us a little bit about how you became a Dons fan and what was your first game?

I was born in Newport Pagnell but moved away when I was 6. Fast forward a few years and Robbie DeMatteo’s appointment (I grew up a Chelsea fan); had me heading for Stadium MK for the first time for the match with Yeovil. A 3-0 win; attacking football and crosses pinged in from the wing had me coming back for more.

What were your expectations for us pre-season, and have you changed your mind on what you have seen so far?

I had low expectations this season after selling our double player of the year and both top goal scorers and was fully expecting a relegation scrap. Despite the odd blip I’m fully aboard the Russell Martin way of playing and eye on the future signings. We’re on the way back to the Robbo era of in and around the playoffs each season.

Which Dons player, or players have really impressed you so far this season?

Scott Fraser has been a great signing and more than replaced Alex Gilbey. Cameron Jerome has been fantastic and performed beyond expectations. The recruitment team are doing an excellent job this season.

Best and worst performances so far this season?

Best – the 1-0 at Hull. I expected to get tonked by them with the form they were in at the time. Worst – Has to be the Shrewsbury game last week. Game lost in the first 10 minutes and never at the races. It’s a reality check after our recent good form.

What is your favourite Dons moment or moments?

Promotion on the last day of the season – twice! And of course the Man Utd game. One of the paper headlines the next day was Dons 4 Donkeys 0

Who is your all-time favourite player and why?

Patrick Bamford. Always gave his best for us; great goal scorer and it’s no surprise to see him performing at the highest level.

Who is the best striker to have ever pulled the Dons shirt on, and why?

Close run between Bamford and Baldock. However, just for that one season Will Grigg as I always expected him to score and he didn’t disappoint.

Who is a good tip for promotion and relegation in League 1?

Unfortunately Posh, they have too many good players. Their recruiting is always top notch. Swindon to go down. They are becoming a yo-yo club and appear to lack stability off the pitch.

Fisher or Nicholls?

Fisher – he’s a better all-round player.

Home games, or away games?

Home. I know I’m getting a comfy seat and a good view.

All fans love a good awayday, are there any grounds you look forward to visiting again, or perhaps one on your bucket list?

Forest Green was great and the veggie Indian burgers outside were a treat.

I’d love to go to the Etihad or Emirates, but I don’t know how enjoyable the game would be!

Where do you think MK Dons will finish up this season?

Comfortably mid table 11th-15th.

White shirt, red shirt, or black shirt?

Black as long as it’s with gold print. I’d love it if we had a purple shirt in the Fiorentina shade.

Your preferred matchday grub?

Bacon Cheeseburger from the KazBar just by the old ticket office.

Any other comments?

I’m praying Carlisle get promoted as I’ve just moved to Scotland and that would be my nearest away game. Otherwise, any chance of a Scottish preseason tour please.
