THE FLOOR IS YOURS CONNOR LAWSON

Thanks to everyone that has contacted us saying how much they like the fan interaction posts such as TRASH TALK, THE FLOOR IS YOURS and more recently THE MKDSA TALKS TO, where we try and get to talk to a few well known faces both past and present. We do have a few in the pipeline and we also have one or two yet to be returned, and if course its not too late if you wish to get involved. Today the microphone is passed to 19 year old Connor Lawson who we believe is somewhere “Up North” at Uni, so good luck to him with that and many thanks for taking the time out to answer a few questions.

Tell us a little bit about how you became a Dons fan and what was your first game?

I first became a Dons fan in a similar fashion to most people my age – by attending a few matches from a young age. My first game was MK Dons 3-2 Notts County on 2nd September 2006 when I was just 5 years old. Since then, we had season tickets at the Hockey Stadium for a couple of seasons then just carried on going when we moved to SMK.

What were your expectations for us pre-season, and have you changed your mind on what you have seen so far?

The summer transfer window was a bit of a rollercoaster that took me from expecting us to be challenging for play-offs to fully anticipating we would be in a relegation battle. I think I will settle for a strong top half finish this season as that gives us something to build on next season with the team Russ has built. But, who knows, maybe we can mount a play-off push?

Which Dons player, or players have really impressed you so far this season?

Quite a few, really, especially the likes of Scott Fraser and David Kasumu. However, solely because I have seen those names mentioned multiple times on this feature, I am going to say Andrew Fisher. Solid goalkeeper and can really see him being a key player for seasons to come.

Best and worst performances so far this season?

Best that I’ve watched was probably Sunderland away. Worst has to be Crewe away, mind-numbingly poor.

What is your favourite Dons moment or moments?

Aside from the obvious of promotion to the Championship, beating Manchester United and any of our dramatic wins over AFCW; I am going for a very specific moment which is when Carlton Morris equalised against Coventry last season……. Carnage.

Who is your all-time favourite player and why?

Dean Lewington. Needs no explanation.

Who is the best striker to have ever pulled the Dons shirt on, and why?

By his own admission, Stephen Walker. Nah, only joking, probably in my memory it’s a toss-up between Rhys Healey and Benik Afobe.

Who is a good tip for promotion and relegation in League 1?

Hull are a pretty solid shout to go up but keep an eye on Doncaster. Relegation I’m hoping for Northampton and AFCW. Can see Cobblers escaping it but AFCW are shocking so I hope their time has come.

Fisher or Nicholls?

Fisher.

Home games, or away games?

An away game, especially if it is in Yorkshire. I like to keep it quiet but that is where I live now.

All fans love a good awayday, are there any grounds you look forward to visiting again, or perhaps one on your bucket list?

Would love to do Sunderland away again, it was quality last time round. As for my awayday bucket list, probably any big PL team with MK.

Where do you think MK Dons will finish up this season?

Top half – let’s say 9th/10th.

White shirt, red shirt, or black shirt?

None. Yellow.

Your preferred matchday grub?

Chicken Balti pie. God tier.

Any other comments?

I hope Glyn Hodges enjoys his redundancy; he did a great job for us.
