TRASH TALK FLEETWOOD

Many thanks to Ben Knapman aged 18 years who has stepped up to the plate for his team and has given us a great interview. We have to tell you Ben, a trip to Fleetwood is always one Dons fans look out for, a proper weekend/day out on the Fylde Coast, a warm welcome and a cracking ground close to the action. We wish you and the Cod Army all the best for the season, stay safe, and we look forward to visiting the Highbury Stadium again soon.

Can you tell us a little-known fact about your club?

Fleetwood have the best % of population to home attendance in Sky Bet League One at just over 10%!

We have spoken to fans from many clubs this season regarding how clubs have compensated those that have purchased season tickets this year and last, how has your club compensated fans?

They have given us an IFollow pass for every home game. (Worth £230) and also offers in the club’s restaurant including free pizzas and half price drinks.

Slowly but surely fans are returning to grounds with reduced attendances, how has your club gone about allocating tickets?

Fleetwood haven’t had the opportunity to let fans back into grounds however we were going to allow 600 into a ballot game then allow 1,200 in after that.

Editor – This question was asked prior to Lockdown 3.

How has the season gone for you so far, as expected, better, or a bit underwhelming?

Underwhelming. The squad we have is one of the best in League One with the likes of Mulgrew, Madden, Camps, Connolly, and Paul Coutts, and more that could be mentioned.

What has been the best result and the worst so far this season?

Best result was Plymouth at home, a 5-1 win that could have been so many more. We were ruthless that day and took the game to a good side. The only negative was not keeping a clean sheet! The worst was definitely Blackpool at home, a 0-1 defeat with no shots on target, we were terrible that day.

Who has been your best player so far this season, and perhaps another player we should keep an eye on?

Best player I’d say is Callum Camps who started off ever so well with goals, however they have dried up of late, but he works tirelessly for the team and it never goes unnoticed. He’s a great player and one that will go far in the game. Paddy Madden is another one he scores goals and works hard got the team always one of the top scorers in League One.

Where do you see your club in the league table at the end of the season?

Hopefully the top 6 but we need to be more consistent and get these few victories put together as it’s massive in League One to stay consistent through the back end of the season.

Have you ever been to Stadium MK, if so, what was your impression of it?

I have been twice so far, we’ve won 0-1 and lost 1-0 I don’t mind the ground but it’s annoying that it’s always 3/4 empty, if it were full every week it would be absolutely brilliant.

What player do you fear the most in the MK Dons team?

Cameron Jerome- the mans a bags man and will cause us problems come Tuesday night. He’s got off to a flying start so far.

Who is your tip for promotion and relegation?

Promotion- Lincoln, Peterborough, and Portsmouth. Relegation – Burton, Wigan, Swindon, Rochdale
