THE FLOOR IS YOURS GREG POULTON

Many thanks to Greg Poulton for taking part in this edition of “The Floor Is Yours”, and one of the best photos we have had so far. Just a quick request before we get on with Greg’s interview, there are a few of you that haven’t returned the requested questionnaires for this feature or the latest feature “Dons Overseas”, can we ask you to return them ASAP please. Over to you Greg!

Tell us a little bit about how you became a Dons fan and what was your first game?

Well, I have supported the club since the beginning, I had no club to support until the mighty MK moved and my first game was the home game against AFC Bournemouth at the NHS which was a 2-2 draw and from that day, I was hooked to MK.

What were your expectations for us pre-season, and have you changed your mind on what you have seen so far?

With it being Russell Martin’s first full season in charge my expectations are high for us to win games because being a former player for us Russell knows how we work and play, and with what I have seen before Covid hit I’m pleased that he is our manager.

Which Dons player, or players have really impressed you so far this season?

Scott Fraser and Cameron Jerome have really impressed me, two fantastic signings by the board.

What is your favourite Dons moment?

I have many great moments but three or four that come to mind are of course the “Heel of God” against AFC Wimbledon, the big day out at Wembley, and all the promotions.

Who is your all-time favourite player and why?

Of all time that’s a tough one, but I would have to say Izale McLeod what a great player he was for the club, he served us well, and I was there moment when he scored his 50th goal for the club which for those of you that have forgotten was an overhead kick against Stockport County at the NHS on a cold Tuesday night.

Who is a good tip for promotion and relegation in League 1?

I think Hull will win the league and Lincoln will finish second, and from the playoffs Portsmouth will go up, and to be relegated Swindon, Burton, Bristol Rovers, and Rochdale.

Home games, or away games?

I love both but I think away games have more atmosphere.

All fans love a good awayday, are there any grounds you look forward to visiting again, or perhaps one on your bucket list?

Ipswich and Hull are both on my bucket list as when we were playing in the Championship, I couldn’t make either away game due to work.

Where do you think MK Dons will finish up this season?

Mid to lower half of the table, as long as we finish above AFC and the Cobblers, I would be happy.

White shirt, red shirt, or black shirt?

Well because I’m a massive Dons fan, I always buy all three, but I love the black shirt.

Your preferred matchday grub?

Cheeseburger and drink.
