THE FLOOR IS YOURS LISA SPEARMAN

Many thanks to Lisa Spearman for taking part, we told her she didn’t have to tell us her age, we thought it the gentlemanly thing to do, but she tells us she is as old as Milton Keynes (The City not the Village) so you will have to do the maths yourself or check out her number plate the next time you see her as apparently that’s a give away too. Happy New Year Lisa to you and your family, we look forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

Tell us a little bit about how you became a Dons fan and what was your first game?

We moved to MK in 2002 and followed the whole move thing through that period. The children were only babies then, so we didn’t go to games until 2008/09 season, but we took the kids to use a free ticket, and then another game and then another …I never expected to fall in love in quite the way I have. Once No1 child was old enough to leave we could start travelling. My first away game was Wigan when Ben Reeves scored twice in first half added time … haven’t missed many since then.

What were your expectations for us pre-season, and have you changed your mind on what you have seen so far?

With the COVID thing I wasn’t sure what to expect but my hope was mid table mediocrity and a chance for Russ to consolidate. It’s been a little less than completely comfortable so far but I’m sticking with MTM.

Who has been your breakout player this season so far?

Tricky, some obvious contenders. However, my firm sponsors Lee Nicholls and I am hugely fond of him, so it is with some regret that I have to say Andrew Fisher has done much better than I expected.

Who has been the Dons best signing this season and why?

I think this is a joint award: Jerome for silencing the critics and Fraser for making us say Alex who?

What is your most favourite Dons moment?

So many – grown men in tears after Man U? When Moncur scored against Preston while we played Yeovil? 87 of them minutes during the Mansfield game? However, I am going to go for Walsall away April 2017. The guard of honour for the departing heroes and Pete W coming through the crowd shaking hands with us all.

Who is your all-time favourite player and why?

Again, really hard but I’m going to stay predictable and go for Lewie – he simply is MK Dons.

Who is a good tip for promotion and relegation?

I reckon it will end up much like it is so I think Lincoln will go out – I don’t think they will stay there though. Relegation also looks nailed on for Wigan and Burton, but it would be glorious schadenfreude if the opposition were to go down too.

Where do you think MK Dons will finish up this season?

See above – anywhere in the middle is fine with me – 11th?

Are you a MKDSA member? If yes, what do we do well and what would you like to see from us? If no what can we do to entice you to join?

Yes, I’m a life member and have been so since we began going to games. It’s great to see the increased engagement with the general fan base and the content ideas are informative (except perhaps this article) and useful. Keep doing what you are doing I say. Oh, and by the way I really would love to win the lunch with Russ! I haven’t quite forgiven Colin for outbidding me to get lunch with Karl.

When we are back in the ground what improvements would you like to see to improve your experiences?

I’m looking forward to seeing the new bar develop – I thought that was a great start. Pretty close to perfect for me otherwise.

Any other comments?

Perhaps it’s a bit cringy as the young people would say but I would like to give a shout out to the media team. Antoni Fruncillo has – in my view – done a sensational job especially over the last few months and I’d love them to know how appreciated it is.
