REF WATCH SWINDON TOWN

The games are coming thick and fast as is usual over the Christmas period, and another game confined to the sofa in what is usually a well-attended fixture for the Dons faithful.

For this game we have Sam Purkiss from London officiating and it has been about a year since we have seen ref Purkiss in our game on New Years Day 2020 when he took control of our home fixture against Bristol Rovers in which we won 3-0, and a very enjoyable day it was as the Dons put on a great display for the 8,200 attending fans.

For the record Rhys Healey, Sam Nombe and Kieran Agard scored the goals that lifted us three points clear of the drop zone in a game that produced no yellow cards.

So far this season Mr Purkiss has reffed on 16 occasions and 5 times as the 4th official. Mr Purkiss up until the time of writing has shown the yellow card on 37 occasions, and the red card on 6 occasions.

Ref Purkiss is joined on the flags by Adam Ricketts and Justin Amey, and those with a nervous disposition should look away now as Brett Huxtable is the 4th official.
