IT’S A ROLLOVER

For each game we take an opportunity to look back at our short but colourful history by way of James Rees diving into the archive to search for a programme from a meeting with our next opponents.

Today’s programme in focus is from the visit of Ipswich Town in our Carling Cup game way back in 2007, and what a night it turned out to be.

Leon Knight put MK Dons ahead, before Alex Bruce deflected the ball into his own net to put MK Dons 2-0 to the good. Alan Lee replied for Ipswich from 12 yards and then forced the game into extra time with another own goal this time from our own Kieran Murphy.

During extra time, Owen Garvens header put Ipswich ahead, but Kevin Gallen had his say scoring a last-minute penalty to take the tie to a penalty shoot-out.

MK Dons scored all 5 penalties, before Dan Harding missed his to send MK Dons through to the next round of the Carling Cup.
