I think most people will now be aware of the club’s decision to suspend Direct Debit payments for October in respect of Season Tickets and in light of the current crisis.
The MKDSA Committee held a brief online meeting tonight (Monday 28th Sept) and their response is as follows.
The MKDSA Committee fully supports and appreciates the great gesture made by the football club in terms of suspending Direct Debit payments on Season Tickets for the month of October, and continuing to honour the benefit of being able to watch IFollow for home games free of charge throughout this period.
We also commend the club for providing free of charge the “New” Digital Red Dot App which is to be launched this week in readiness for the Ipswich Town game on Saturday.
The MKDSA also fully understands the unprecedented circumstances and decisions that not just the MK Dons, but football in general are having to make, we are sure it is a very worrying time for many.
We would also like to acknowledge our understanding that talks are still continuing with third parties, and it will take a couple of weeks if not longer to come back to the fans with more concrete proposals, and agree that the measures already taken were necessary to offer to fans in the interim.
We are sure that everyone’s circumstances are different, and when those options do come through it will allow everyone to decide what suits them best.
We are however aware that some Season Ticket holder will want to leave their money with the club out of genuine concern for its future, a case of trying to ensure the football club is still there when the crisis of Covid is finally over. Others will be concerned that previous commitments by the manager in respect of new personnel will now be withdrawn and will it damage the club’s ability to trade as the playing budget has taken such a serious knock?
