Its official Scott Fraser is a Don, after a certain amount of speculation yesterday, and a rumoured medical this morning, it looks like gaffer Russell Martin has secured one of his top targets from Burton Albion right from under the noses of several interested clubs and is likely to be for an undisclosed fee.
We can’t say for certain but on the face of it he looks like a direct Alex Gilbey replacement as he comes to us as an attacking midfielder with a real goal threat.
Fraser aged 25 and born in Dundee, Scotland has notched up some 227 appearances, scoring 36 goals.
He kicked off his senior career at Dundee United in 2014, after being on their youth books since 2005, in addition he spent a short time at Airdrieonians on loan before moving to Burton Albion in 2018 on a two year deal and scoring 9 goals last season from 30 games and looks a useful addition to the 2020/21 squad.
Those 9 goals included a second half hattrick back in August last year against Oxford United with Burton losing 2-1 at the time.
