MATCH REPORT: MK Dons 0-1 Wycombe Wanderers – Saturday 22 nd October 2022

1st Half

In the opening period, MK Dons were the brighter of the two sides, as Nathan Holland’s attempt at goal was the opening chance of the game. Louis Barry caused problems on numerous occasions for the Chairboy’s defense, with some last-ditch challenges and shots being deflected wide in stoic defending.

Daniel Harvie then found Grigg on the end of a teasing cross, but the ball fell awkwardly and the visitors cleared away the danger.

Chris Ferino had the first chance for Wycombe although it was a comfortable header for Cumming to save.

However, the chances continued for MK Dons, as Jules’ header from McEachran’s cross ended up going over the top.

On the half hour mark, Nathan Holland links up well with Barry once again, and the No. 11 eventual shot is blocked by McCarthy. Unfortunately, with 5 minutes left of the first half, Nick Freeman put Wycombe in front as he rifles home an effort from the edge of the box from a corner kick against the run of play.

2 nd Half

MK Dons continued on the front foot after attempts from Barry and Holland in the first 10 minutes were saved by the Wycombe keeper. Barry then looked to be clear on the run however Joe Jacobson denied him the opportunity and brought his man down for the only yellow card of the game.

Sam Vokes then had a good chance to extend Wycombe’s lead however his header looped over Cumming but he manages to catch the ball on the line.

Matt Dennis entered the fray on 68 minutes and soon made an impact himself after almost catching Stryjek off guard. He then had a huge chance to level when he beats Ferino and unleashed a powerful shot, for Stryjek to somehow palm away.

Louis Barry then ploughed through the Wycombe defense one again, but his effort at goal was blocked once again. Daniel Harvie then has an attempt in the 90 th minute but the ball deflects and almost catches Stryjek out but for another decent save to deny.
