BLACKPOOL

Always a popular day out at the iconic Bloomfield Road (Sat Nav – FY1 6JJ) with an all seated capacity of 16,500 and is a round trip from SMK of nearly 400 miles.

We will be seated in the Stan Mortenson (North) Stand which holds approx. 2,500, and there is not a chance of that. No supporting pillars to obstruct your view here and more like the traditional football ground fayre on offer.
The pub of choice seems to be the Old Bridge House on Lytham Road, but I’ve no doubt Dons regulars will find many opportunities to sample the local delights, and there is always the fall back of alcoholic refreshment being on sale in the ground.

Blackpool South is the closest railway station and is a five-minute walk from the ground, however few trains stop here, with most calling at Blackpool North, but be warned its over two miles from the ground and a good 40-minute walk. Alternatives are getting a number 11 bus from the station to Lytham St Anne’s, they run every 15 minutes and go right passed the ground.

Local parking is available, but it is largely pay and display, and the wardens are extremely vigilant on match days, there is also some parking at the ground, but it is book in advance, telephone 01253-685000.
