10-07-

Former Coventry City skipper Carl Baker joined the Dons in September 2014 and was named Player of the Year in his first season here.

The Liverpool schoolboy, who was born in Prescot on Boxing Day 1982, began his senior career with Prescot Cables before moving in 2003 to Southport, where he helped win the Conference North. An impressive four-year spell saw him
earn a move into the Football League with Morecambe,
where he found the net 11 times in 48 appearances.

Two years at Stockport County followed prior to a
switch to then Championship side Coventry in the
summer of 2010. He went on to play 182 times for
them and was captain for the final two years of a
productive four-year stay.

Carl joined the Dons on 6 September 2014. In the
2014/15 season, he scored 10 goals in 35
appearances, playing a key role in the Dons’
promotion to the Championship and earning him the

Player of the Year award.

In June 2016 he signed a two-year deal with

Portsmouth.
